About Us
Who We Are
Torc is an investment property company focused on delivering long-term, asset-backed income through UK residential real estate. We acquire and structure properties that generate contracted income via long-duration leases, underpinned by essential housing demand within the health and social care system.
Our approach is defined by discipline and selectivity. We operate in a fragmented market where access, structure, and execution determine outcomes. By combining deep sector relationships with institutional leases, we provide investors with exposure to income streams that are both resilient and difficult to access directly.
We are not driven by volume or short-term gains. Our focus is on building a portfolio of high-quality assets that deliver predictable income, preserve capital, and perform consistently over time.
Chris Roberts
Chris Roberts is the Founder of Torc and an experienced property and investment professional with a track record of structuring and delivering income-generating residential assets across the UK.
With a background spanning property acquisition, development, and operational delivery, Chris has built and scaled platforms focused on providing specialist housing within the supported living and children’s care sectors. Through his work, he has been directly involved in sourcing, adapting, and stabilising properties that generate long-term, needs-based income, working closely with operators, registered providers, and public sector stakeholders.
Chris’s approach is rooted in understanding both sides of the equation, from the underlying demand drivers and the investment structure required to deliver reliable returns. This dual perspective has enabled him to consistently deliver assets that are operationally viable, income-producing, and aligned with long-term funding frameworks.
At Torc, Chris is responsible for investment strategy, deal origination, and structuring – ensuring that each opportunity meets a clear mandate: durable income, asset security, and disciplined execution.
Simon Howell
Simon Howell is a highly experienced property investor, developer and long-term residential asset manager.
With decades of hands-on experience in the residential property market, Simon brings deep practical expertise in acquisition, development, tenant management, maintenance, and long-term portfolio performance. Through his business, he has successfully managed a large portfolio of residential properties, maintaining strong occupancy, operational stability, and asset quality across different market conditions.
Over the last five years, Simon has worked closely with a range of local authorities, supporting the development and delivery of supported living and children’s services. This experience gives him a clear understanding of the standards, expectations, and operational requirements involved in providing property for public-sector-backed care and housing settings.
For investors, Simon’s experience is particularly valuable because he understands property beyond the point of purchase. His strength lies in making sure assets are properly managed, maintained, and preserved over the long term, protecting both the quality of the home and the reliability of the income stream.
At Torc, Simon plays a key role in ensuring that properties are not only well sourced and structured, but also professionally managed and operationally fit for purpose. His local authority experience, combined with his long-term management track record, provides an important layer of confidence that each asset can perform properly at property level over the full investment term.
Suppli Homes Partnership
Torc is the investment arm of Suppli Homes Ltd, a trading business focused on procuring, adapting and supplying specialist residential homes to meet identified housing requirements from the NHS, Local Authorities and their care-provider partners.
Suppli acts as the public-sector and operational delivery arm of the business. It works directly with commissioners, NHS teams, Local Authorities and care providers to understand specific housing requirements, source suitable properties, oversee adaptations, and ensure each home is configured around the needs of the individual or cohort it is intended to support.
Torc provides the investment structure behind that delivery model, working with private, HNWI and institutional capital to fund suitable property opportunities. This creates a clear operational link between public-sector housing demand and private capital deployment: Suppli identifies and delivers the required homes, while Torc structures the investment opportunity.
Together, the model is demand-led rather than speculative. Each asset is brought forward against a clearly identified need, configured for a specific use, and positioned to generate long-term income through commercial lease arrangements with established counterparties and inflation-linked rent reviews. This allows the business to help deliver critical specialist housing while providing investors with secure, asset-backed income opportunities.
